Protect yourself when running alone...

It's just 10 days to go before we kick off #ase19 running club and Affiliate Summit East! I will be blogging about running, Affiliate Summit and any affiliate marketing related things that pop in my head the next 10 busy days!

Running safety, even though I don't take it as serious as I should really needs to be something your cautious about especially us Ladies. Here are 6 tips you should follow before heading out to your log miles.

1. Never go the same route over and over again. Change up your routes because you never know who is watching or creeping on you.

2. Wear bright or reflective clothing even during the day. I don't know how many times someone is swerving towards me as they are texting on their phone. Many times I have jumped into the woods.

3. Carry mace or pepper spray. A permit is needed for mace but pepper spray is legal in most states and you can attach to your fuel belt. This also helps when a mean dog is about to bite your leg off.

4. Make sure you listen and keep your eyes open. I personally do not run with headphones. I listen to music but just on my phone that I carry. This way I can hear around me.

5. It's always a good idea to have a running partner and never run alone especially during those long miles.

6. You can certainly get Road ID to attach to your fuel belt or Fitbit/Garmin. I always thought this was a bit dramatic until I ran my second Boston Marathon. The weather was humid and 95 degrees. There were several miles I thought I was going to pass out and it was scary. If you have your Road ID and need emergency medical assistance they will be able to call your emergency contact immediately.

Good Luck on those roads! #logthosemiles
