Support Local Business

Weekend Hair...Blondes have more fun!

One of my favorite things to do is support local business. What people don't realize is the more successful businesses you have locally the better off your town will do economically. My top three votes for local businesses I visit often are Hair It Is, Sunny Nails and The Main Street Tavern.

I have been getting my hair colored at Hair It Is for many years. The owner Kim Kelley has been operating this salon for over 25 years. Not only is she an impressive business woman she is also a very good friend. My stylist Kris and I go way back to softball teammates. I never make appointments like normal clients. I send texts with last minute emergencies. They actually treat me like a queen and even have a desk I use to setup my work station. Rarely do I tell Kris what I want, actually never. I simply say I want to walk out of here feeling beautiful so do your magic. And every single time she never disappoints me. All of the stylists are hip and fun and I have a great time every time I go in there. You want good hair that is the local place to go.

Every time I travel for work I get my nails done. I always like to look professional and put together for my clients and co-workers, or at least pretend too! This is a brand new thing for me I never cared about my nails before. I started to go to Sunny Nails and fell in love with their service. I am now addicted and go every other week. Again, I never make appointments I actually show up before they even open. They always squeeze me in for a mani/pedi while first thing. Everyone including the owners that work there are so nice and always remember everything about their clients. My nails and toes never looked so good. I highly recommend following them on FaceBook and Instagram for all their fun summer ideas!

Last, and most recently opened is the Main Street Tavern. Food and drinks are fabulous but the best part is the owners Dana and Kim. They support a local fundraiser every Thursday night and are always looking to help sponsor scholarships and teams. Several of my non-profits have benefited from their generosity. Most recently the town next to us had a major fire in their High-School. It was Kim's idea for us to all get together in town on a Thursday and raise money for them. So that is exactly what we did. My favorite thing to have down there is the Brussels Sprouts Manhattan!

Happy Saturday Everyone...
