For the last few months I have been super excited the MLB was going to the United Kingdom! The whole idea of bringing American Baseball to Europe is super cool and I love we are uniting on the whole sports level. I mean does anyone in Europe watch anything other than soccer?
The MLB London Series is a two-year arrangement for Major League Baseball to play a total of four regular season games at London Stadium in London, United Kingdom, in 2019 and 2020. The first games were played this weekend, with my Boston Red Sox hosting two games against the New York Yankees. Naturally they put the biggest rivalry in Baseball against each other to kick this all off! We unfortunately took two losses with really bad pitching and I am really thankful I didn't spend the fortune to fly there and go to one of these games. I mean bases loaded in the 8th inning today and you hit a dribbler down the first base line, come on?! However, I would have gone if I had the opportunity in a second.
But in the grand scheme of things this whole arrangement is really cool and joining sport cultures with another country I am 100% on board. After all it's 2019 let's all unite as one and not to mention my company has an office in London and it's just so much fun there. I totally want to teach my baseball knowledge and take all of them to Fenway Park! Because though generations have come and gone, Fenway Park remains, much like it did the day it opened on April 20, 1912. The Yankees don't have that kinda coolness!
I guess the only thing that will make this all better is the USA Women's Soccer team beats England on Tuesday!
Happy Sunday!
